Sample Reception Technical Administrator - Cardiff

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to suit a candidate with excellent ‘attention to detail’ skills and the ability to work with a minimum of direction and plan ahead in a busy analytical laboratory service environment who is ideally experienced in laboratory sample reception admin. The essential part of this role involves the registering of client samples into the Laboratory Information Management System [LIMS] to accurately reflect all the relevant details including the clients’ requests & documentation prior to correctly labelling the physical samples for release to the laboratory.

The successful candidate will possess the desire to scrutinize their own work at all times, good verbal and written communication skills in order to liaise with staff of all grades and clients when necessary and possess skills in MS Office Excel, Word and Outlook. Candidates will be conversant with working in a fast-paced diverse environment requiring solid multi-tasking skills and decisiveness under pressured & unannounced situations.

Other tasks will involve arranging the shipping of sample bottles to clients and samples with proper documentation to sub-contracted laboratories. Liaising with Consultants (internal or external on occasions) with regards to samples for their active analysis cases, storage charges, and when samples may be disposed of. Any duties as appropriate will also be undertaken.
