For many years MTD have been providing welder and welding procedure approval services in all major codes and standards such as ASME IX, BS EN ISO 9601 Series, BS EN ISO 15614 Series, AWS D1.1. and under the approval of the CAA.

Covering an extensive range of materials and processes, our certified inspectors monitor and witness weld production on site under our ISO/IEC 17020 UKAS accreditation (UKAS number 5127). Minton, Treharne & Davies (MTD) can perform NDT and mechanical testing of the samples in our ISO/IEC 17025 UKAS accredited testing laboratory (UKAS number 0077).

MTD is also able to provide qualifications for permanent joining personnel under the company’s accreditation to ISO/IEC 17024 (UKAS number 5127). Again, permanent-joined examination samples will be tested through our ISO/IEC 17025 testing laboratory.

As a Recognised Third Party Organisation (RTPO) under ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17024 and under the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations 2016 (for UKCA) and the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (for CE and UKNI considering EA-2/17) for the Approval of Permanent Joining Personnel and Permanent Joining Procedures, we really can offer a complete permanent joining certification service.

In addition, independent to our permanent joining activities, consultancy is undertaken in the form of the provision of advice, contract, documentation, and procedure review.
