Overview
This three day course is designed to provide delegates with an overview of Steel, its products, uses and shipment.
The aim is to provide an insight into the steel industry from the raw material stage, through the manufacturing process, to the finished product in all its different forms, and issues arising from its shipment.

The principal objectives of the programme are to provide an appreciation of:

  • Raw Materials
  • Producing Iron
  • Manufacturing Steel and Steel Products
  • How Value is Added as Products Progress from Semi Finished to Finished Products
  • Handling and Transportation Issues
  • Common Types of Damage
  • Mitigation Strategies
  • Insurance Claim Disputes

This course includes a guided tour of a modern Steelworks, allowing delegates to witness the production processes as well as the scale of operations and packing methods.

Accredited by the CII for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development.
