ETIENNE BROWN (BSc)

Chemical Consultant

Etienne Brown is a Consultant with Minton, Treharne, & Davies (USA), Inc. based in MTD’s Houston, Texas office.

Etienne has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburgh, TX. He also has extensive graduate coursework in the fields of Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics from the University of Houston in Houston, TX. In 2011 he was invited, and attended, the biennial Telluride School on Theoretical Chemistry (TSTC) in Telluride, CO. TSTC is a global program and the only summer school program in the United States that focuses on electronic structures, statistical mechanics, and chemical dynamics. Etienne gained industry experience working in various laboratories and in the risk department of a global transportation and storage company.

Since joining MTD in 2014, Etienne has been involved in the investigation of numerous cargo contaminations/disputes/claims for a wide range of clients involving attendance on board vessels, terminals, and laboratories. Cases investigated include petroleum and petrochemical products, specialty chemicals, bulk commodities, food products, cargo storage terminals, refineries, and production plants. Etienne has acted as a factual witness in Panamanian court and has prepared reports and documents for arbitration and mediation hearings.
